Not a problem just wondering why. I have chrome on my computer and the version shows 10.0.648.204. When I go to safezone the chrome in it has a version number 9.0.592.0, with no way to upgrade it. Is this by design and will be updated at some time? Just that I started using it for banking and wanted to be sure it is ok.
Yes, it is by design and no, you cannot update it yourself, the source code has been modified for usage inside safezone.
don’t wonder anymore, Avast installs for the SafeZone its own custom version of Chromium. Nothing to do with your Chrome install.
Now keep in mind that Chromium/SZ is currently the “equivalent” of Chrome/stable version 9, so it’s seriously outdated yes (as “stable” is current V10). But as said that’s Chromium, not Chrome, and it doesn’t auto-update. You’ll have to wait for Avast to update AIS to see the SZ browser updated too.
