Safezone has stopped working

When I open it I just get

Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network

on the home page and

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found.

on any other page.

Anyone else seeing this?

(latest avast update 7.0.1426)

Do you have SafeZone Browser allowed internet access in the firewall rules?

DJBone

I use AIS firewall set to auto-decide - so it would be a worry if safezone wasn’t allowed!

But yes - it is allowed under application rules (All connnections - otherwise auto-decide).

Is your safezone working OK?

PS - I’ve tried deleting the safezone firewall rule - and it is recreated - so safezone is clearly attempting to connect to the internet.

Are the safezone servers down perhaps?

My SafeZone is working fine, just tried it.
My rule is: Internet out (otherwise auto-decide). I have set it to ask, not auto-decide.

DJBone

Thanks - that’s what my rule was recreated as.

I’ve tried resetting safezone

I’ve tried avast repair via control panel

I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling the safezone component next.

PS - what part of the world are you in? I’m in England, and I’m just wondering if there may be local Safezone servers?

Ok. Please give feedback after reinstalling.

DJBone

Reinstalling the safezone component has changed nothing with safezone - still not working.

The only thing it does seem to have done is broken webshield - which was fine before, but is now scanning nothing.

I’m guessing the problem there may be the faulty redirect driver again - which means mailshield may well be broken now too.

(yes just checked, and both aswrdr redirect drivers are showing again - something is still amiss with this installer I think)

So far it’s fair to say that avast 7 is failing to delight this customer.

It now seems I will have to do a fesh download and complete uninstall/reinstall of AIS again

PS
I think if I was using the free product rather than the paid product I would walk away from avast at this stage - which is a shame because I’ve used it for years.

I suspect there may be very many avast free users who are doing just that

A full reinstall of AIS has got it working again.

Can anyone from avast team comment on why any attempt to reinstall an avast component seems to reload the faulty redirect driver, and so break webshield and mailshield - and when this will be fixed?

Does SafeZone working now?

DJBone

Yes, it’s working thanks.

You’re welcome.
