Safezone stopping my banking access

Can anyone help. The last update has starting showing a bar about safezone and I can no longer access my banking and many other pages.
I am not impressed. Have loved the program up till now. I don’t think I will resubscribe because of this. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello BAW, welcome to the forums.

This issue is caused by a SafeZone feature, which recommends to open banking site inside SafeZone.
You can disable this feature from following settings:

  1. Open avast! window
  2. Go to Tools → SafeZone
  3. Uncheck “Automatically switch to the SafeZone for pre-defined banking & shopping sites”
  4. Restart your browser, if necessary

I tried Un checking the box, but then when I come back, the BOX is still checked.
How do I turn it OFF Period.

Sounds like settings database is corrupted. Try resetting all avast settings to default:

  1. Open avast! user interface.
  2. Go to Settings → Troubleshooting
  3. Open “Reset factory settings” and select two of them, then click “Reset Now”
  4. Reboot your computer.
  5. Try uncheck SafeZone settings.
