SALE PRICE FOR PRODUCTS!!!!!

I was wondering how is it that Avast can post a sale price for the product that has always been the same price yet make it seem that the product is retailed for 2x the amount - or only increases the license subscription - if you buy the product to protect your computer- you should be protected for use of the product for the entire time you use it - PERIOD

sadly the cost of using a computer entails paying for software to keep it working - and you complain about the government getting it’s hands on everything- and yet WE have come to this on our own by creating MUST HAVES to go along with your WANTS

if you buy the product to protect your computer- you should be protected for use of the product for the entire time you use it - PERIOD
Can you explain ?.....do you mean a one time fee for a lifetime license ?

You can use the product for the entire time you use it, PERIOD. But when the license expire, you have to renew it for a small sum, so you can continue to update the virus definitions. It isn’t expensive…and the great guys that working with this great software have to eat

And if you don’t like the price, you can use the great software Avast 5.0 Free Antivirus

This is the case for the greatest majority of anti-virus products (and many other products), it how they survive to live another day to continue development and updates, virus signatures, etc.

Fortunately Alwil Software, the developers of avast! continue to offer an excellent free version in both avast 4.8 (for those on win9.x, winME, which very few still support) and the new avast! 5.0 free antivirus.

So you have a choice.

First off, your not buying the product.

As with all the major software you purchase an license to use the software. Even with free software, by your use of the software you are agreeing to use the software in accordance with its license and or TOS/EULA. … i.e., lot of the free software only for home (non-business) use.

By your analogy, guess you’re probably tick-off at auto makers/dealers since you have to keep buying petrol/diesel to drive the car.

BTW if you have a tele, don’t you pay for a yearly TV license?

As noted by other above posts, there are a lot of good free software available e.g.:
