same problem with my phone with 'malware' but cannot get out of infinite loop

sorry if I am adding one more thread to this infamous topic… I cannot however uninstall avast or do anything else on my Sony Experia Arc, because avast is asking for my password to get to the malware warning screen, and before I get the opportunity to tap on the password field, it pops up another warning… basically the phone goes into an infinite loop. There is absolutely no chance to get to the 15 minutes button, or any other button. The only option is power off.

Please let me know that I can just wait for the automatic new virus definition to download, or I may have to get an expert to reset my phone or do something similar. This is not funny. I need my phone and it’s night time in Australia.

I thought avast was hacked to get this problem… but now it looks like it’s you guys who’ve messed up. I don’t think I can ever trust avast again.

sorry Eddy if you think I’m crowding your forum… I have actually searched and read all posts about this before I post. I just don’t think they apply to my situation. Have you read my post clearly? No one else mentioned having to enter avast password.

But happy to tell you that I tried again just now, switching on my phone, I got to the phone settings page before avast started up, and uninstall within 3 seconds. If I waited any longer, avast would have swallowed my phone!

No worry, you won’t see me again here!
