Send the sample to virus@avast.com zipped and password protected with the password in email body, a link to this topic might help and undetected malware in the subject.
Or you can also add the file to the User Files (File, Add) section of the avast chest where it can do no harm and send it from there (select the file, right click, email to Alwil Software). No need to zip and PW protect when the sample is sent from chest. A copy of the file/s will remain in the original location, so any further action you take can remove that.

It isn’t a direct link to a virus but to a download site where you have to jump through some hoops before you can ‘download’ the sample.

That didn’t cripple it a bit, it crippled it completely, it would be completely unworkable as a part of the domain is gone.
I would have thought that this would have been better http://rapid[break]share.de/files/38107400/Lagu_Bagus_Banget.exe.html, where at least the original URL remains visible. Or http :// rapidshare.de/files/38107400/Lagu_Bagus_Banget.exe.html, both of which aren’t active and avoid accidental exposure.
Oups i’m so sorryy if that’s link can make problem here… BTW i just want to share and tell to avast that’s viruses can’t be detected by avast… however i am newbie here… so if i want to share some viruses that’s can’t detected by avast where i can put the sample filess ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

I have also downloaded the sample before Maxx culled it and sent it to avast, though should also send it.

DavidR: i agree with your ways of links deactivation, but as you can see, the link above was modified by Igor ;)… you can say that’s a pretty freaky paranoia, but we don’t like the active links to malware (even if they are depending on more actions than simply click them)… you know, some unexpected coincidence (or user’s foolishness) can be often stronger than we think…
