I sandboxed FF and downloaded a new version of Mozy. The download worked but the install via FF failed. It worked when I went to to the download folder and it worked.
Are you not supposed to be able install via FF when it’s sandboxed?

What is the point of sandboxing something that you are then going to allow it to install something outside the sandbox, that completely defeats the whole point of the sandbox, to isolate it from your system. If you can install something outside the sandbox, so to could malware.
Normally there obviously isn’t one, but I was trying it out to see it work. But in this case it didn’t, which is my question about it. Did it do what it was supposed to do or did it not work?
It did what it is supposed to do, isolate the sandbox from the live system. It will allow you to download to your normal download location but not to run applications outside the sand box when the commands, etc. cam from within, e.g. firefox download to run the downloaded file.
Great. That was what I was wondering about. Just wanting to know if it was working properly. Thanks.
You’re welcome.
