Internet Explorer 9 (both 32 and 64 bit versions) are running in sandboxed mode.
But it appears that only the 64 bit version of the browser can handle it.
I am running completely without addons, so it’s not because of an addon either.
When I try to start the 32 bit version it won’t even start.
Not until I open up avast and remove them under Virtualized processes and delete the row containing iexplore.exe
Can I either permanently let iexplore play outside the sandbox? Or get this annoying thing fixed?
I have been using the free version of Avast since around 2002 (I think) and I love it.
But when I finally decide to pay for it, i’m getting trouble.
What’s your OS? Vista or Win7?
So, when you run IE9 32-bit in the sandbox, it won’t start, but there’s “iexplore.exe” listed in Virtualized processes list in UI, is that correct?
Please terminate all IE instances and make sure there’s no iexplore.exe listed in Virtualized process list. Run IE9 32-bit in the sandbox, run Task Manager (right click on Taskbar), look at Process tab. Is there one iexplore.exe process listed, or are there two iexplore.exe processes? Right click on iexplore.exe process(es), select “Create dump file”, compress this file and upload on our ftp site (http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=18). Thanks.

Yes, this is correct, it get's automatically sandboxed after a while.
When all virtualized processes of iexplore.exe is killed, and the automatic virtualization of webbrowsers have been emptied, I start IE9.
There are right now 3 instances of iexplore.exe in TM (and I’m running 5 tabs at the moment).
Edit: It just got added back to the sandbox, so if I try open another tab, I am getting a download window.
If I would try to start a new browser window instead of a tab, It would get killed immediately.

/Edit
I dumped all three of them and compressed them to a tar file.
It will be on your FTP site in a minute (litterally).
I know, it has only been one day, so I don’t expect a solution at this point…
Just want to know if anyone has started to look into the dumps I provided…
