Sandbox / Toolbar / Autohide

Been using avast internet security for quite a while, when my subscription was due recently I upgraded to Premier. Right away was off to a rocky start, would not boot and the support guy said my machine was infected and wanted $160 to fix it. I declined the offer. A few days later I noticed, on this forum, other 64 bit vista users having the same problem. After much angst, it turns out the avast version did not get along with my OS. Shortly after discovering this there was a new build available that fixed the problem. Thanks avast team, I really like the product.

I do, however, have a minor gripe. I utilize the sandbox for several apps, including web browsers. My preference is to go full screen with the toolbar set to auto hide so I can go between open windows easily by just going to the taskbar and selecting the appropriate tab. Well, no-can-do when using the sandbox.

Is there a setting or something that I am missing? I cannot get my toolbar to popup and it’s quite annoying. If this worked, life would be perfect.

Thanks,

Fat Ugly Bald Guy

Is this guy an official avast! one? Where did you go for being helped?

It sounds like the third party support.

It would be incredible if the first question the third party support would ask is, “have you tried the avast forums”? ;D

Yes, I used the phone number from the avast website for support. The guy remoted into my machine (with my permission) , had a look around and concluded my registry was “infected”, even though he did not look at the registry.

Just checked the email the guy sent me on 4/30/133, says from “ALWIL Support team [support@avast.com]”, had a new license file attached.

The phone # you called and the license you received are from 2 different places.
The phone# is third party support. (Not Avast) the license is sent to you from Avast and is for your paid version of avast.)

The guy sent me the email while I was on the phone with him.

This is all besides the point. I was put off by the request for more $, but that worked itself out. What was most frustrating was the thought that my system was infected when it was not.

Anyways, what about the taskbar not popping up while using sandboxed apps? Is this normal?

Thanks.
