Sandbox with internet access restrictions

I’m trialing Avast pro 7.0.1466 on win xp home using only IE and the windows firewall.
In the sandbox settings I’ve set internet access only to IE. As a simple test I went to grc.com and clicked on the leaktest.When IE asked if I wanted to open or save the file, I chose OPEN and allowed it to run and it did run and access the internet. :slight_smile:
Shoudn’t the access restrictions have blocked the leaktest?

The whole purpose of me trying this is to make the sandbox even safer to use while browsing. :slight_smile:

If you allow IE to access Internet, then IE and all its child processes inherit this settings.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Well I’ve did a little more tinkering with the settings. I unchecked “Web Browsers” (see my last screenshot) and leaktest was NOT able to connect. :slight_smile:

JMO this tweak could prevent a malware from phoning home.
