I hope most guys make use of SUPERAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes’ AntiMalware or both while using avast!. But I just need your feedback on their paid versions. Exactly about the real-time protection.
Currently I’m using SAS Pro. Coz it has pretty small usage of resources and more features than MBAM (both paid versions).
Which one is better for real-time malware protection?
MBAM mostly block sites and it blocks my TeamViewr connections when Site blocking is activated on PRO. I’ve heard MBAM is effective though it’s FREE. But comparatively as to their features, SAS Pro provide more real-time protection including Registry.
I’m impressed with real-time resource utilization of SAS Pro. But have no idea yet to use what as real-time.
I have SAS Pro on this system and MBAM free, essentially you shouldn’t have two resident anti-malware/spyware applications installed, one has to be on-demand (free).
I have had SAS for some considerable time before MBAM came out, I liked it and bought the lifetime license. If they were both available at the time, I would be hard pressed as to which one to go for in the Pro, resident version. They both have slightly different feature set so can’t easily be compared.
On my win7 netbook I have MBAM Pro installed with avast.
Thank you David… Tech suggested you may help on this comparing.
If you don’t mind may I have your opinion on MBAM Pro? it’s more likely block malicious websites too. But I saw a guy mentioned on another topic it blocks all porn websites. It may false positive sometimes, don’t know as my knowledge.
On a par with the web shield you can’t be serious, sorry yes you probably are.
The MBAM website blocking will do nothing to protect against hacked sites, very common if you hadn’t noticed. For that it can’t hold a candle too the Web Shield.
I like it too, but as I say they have slightly different feature sets, this being one of them. But how important do you consider it, p-o-r-n sites aren’t necessarily going to be malicious, so blocking just on that criteria isn’t great.
If that matters to you then I would suggest going a step further and use OpenDNS (Dashboard) as that can block a host (excuse the pun) of sites by category, one being malicious, phishing, another being adult content, etc. etc. there are a great many different categories you can use to filter sites.
So you have to have a look at the feature set and see what is important to you and can you already get it in some other form, like OpenDNS, etc. and stick with the free version as an on-demand backup.
Ha Ha Ha, here goes Kenny diving of at another tangent having had his ass handed ‘too’ (sic) him once again.
I rather doubt that anyone comes to the forums is overly concerned with typos/spelling mistakes, etc. etc. so long as they get and understand the information.
i have super anti spyware pro 5.0 and malware bytes i use both and there good so theres no issue having both on the system.
i was wondering what is the best firewall ive been using comodo pro along time but is there a better one out there ?
Thank you:) I brought out P-O-R-N site blocking coz MBAM not dealing with malicious sites exactly as per their malicious activity. I ll try on OpenDNS. Currently I’m using ClearCloudDNS, is that same as it?
Anyway thank you for making me doubtless N confident. I’m gonna use SAS Pro as it was for real-time protection and MBAM for on-demand now.
