So after upgrading from Avast free to Avast paid I find out that I can’t download and convert videos with Save2pc (a program I’ve been using for years) if I’m using Avast as my security shield? Can’t say I like that idea too much. While I like both programs very much I’m afraid I’d have to complain about Avast and request a refund if I can’t use Save2pc Pro to download and convert videos from YouTube. Being able to download only in flv format isn’t a solution as one of the main reasons I use Save2pc Pro is that I can do both without having to enlist the aid of another program to convert, so only downloading in flv format isn’t an option I’m happy with.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Sorry, forgot to note what happens. When trying to d/l a YouTube video with Save2pc Pro and have it auto convert into avi format it looks like it is downloading the entire video and converting it but it doesn’t, I get no notices of any kind in Avast. When I download with Save2pc Pro simply as a straight flv it downloads just fine, but then to convert it I have to use another 3rd party piece of software. I’ve used Save2pc Pro for over 4 years with other Virus/Protection programs and had no problems whatsoever, I switched to Avast because it was better in my opinion than the other ones I had tried but I see no reason why Avast can’t accommodate this feature while others do.
OK, try this as I believe the save3pc may be acting a bit like a browser and that would have the web shield route that traffic through the web shield browser so it can be scanned.
From the avastUI, Real-Time Shields, Web Shield, Expert Settings, check the ‘Scan traffic from well-known browser processes only.’
