Says Norton is running but it is not

Hi,

I just uninstalled the trial of NAV 2004 and am now trying Avast but when my computer boots I get a error message that NAV is running and part of Avast can not run (shield, P2P, IM). I have uninstalled NAV, run there reg cleaner, took out every thing in my registry thay has Symantec in it with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thank you I will give it a shot, I did a search for “norton” and “running” and that thread did not come up.
