SBS 2003 Pricing

Just checking out the SBS 2003 version.

We are a small company, running SBS 2003 mainly for exchange and file storage (SQL Server will be installed shortly).

Have some questions

1 - I need only download the SBS 2003 standard version (clients connect directly to the internet, not through the server as a gateway) - I do not need to download any of the plugins?

2 - How do I calculate the number of clients? There are three of us in the company, so there would be three mailboxes being scanned - that makes three clients - yeah?

Pretty certain thats right - but I want to make sure I purchase the correct number of licenses :wink:

3 - What is the upgrade path from avast!4? When is avast! 5 expected? will there be a formal upgrade from 4?

Not too bothered about this, I will probably buy a three year license anyway, just to support a company who makes there prodcts available like this.

But, I would want to know if a new version is due immently, if there was a difficult upgrade from version 4, etc. :slight_smile:

well - not directly, they are behind a router / firewall.

So you need a license for 3 clients. ;D

For more details, wait till one of the Alwil people step in. I’m sure it won’t take too long for them to answer you better than I can do.

Sorry, Eddy, but you’re not right. In the SBS case, the avast license needs to be of the same number of CALs as the SBS itself.

I.e. if it’s e.g. a 10-user SBS, then it needs to be a 10-seat SBS avast license. Makes sense?
