Scam Guardian bug freezing browser timers (Remote Support gave up - Need Developer Escalation

Subject: ESCALATION REQUEST: Tier 3 Engineering - Scam Guardian Intercepting Web Browser DOM Updates / Script Halting

Ticket Reference Context: (If you have the case numbers from the two agents who remoted in, paste them here)

Issue Description:
I am requesting an immediate escalation to a Tier 3 Senior Support Engineer or Product Developer. Two front-line remote support agents have accessed my machine and were unable to resolve this issue.

Avast Premium’s Scam Guardian / Web Guard is causing a critical rendering block in my web browsers (Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox) on high-frequency data websites (DraftKings.com and Drafters.com).

Technical Diagnostics Captured Live:

  1. During a live transaction/draft, the website’s visual countdown timer completely halts and freezes at zero.

  2. Background browser extensions (The Bag Manager) continue to receive the underlying WebSocket data stream payload successfully.

  3. However, Avast’s background process is actively blocking the browser from executing the script required to update the visual DOM (Document Object Model). The visual page layout freezes while background network traffic continues.

  4. Disabling basic toggles did not resolve the script halt. This is a false-positive heuristic block embedded deep within the new Scam Guardian engine.

Please escalate this ticket immediately to an engineering queue so a developer can review the false-positive block on these script injections. I am ready to provide a clean Fiddler network trace or browser console log upon request.

Happy 4th of July! I am posting here in case other people have this issue.
