Scan for Network Threats trouble

Vista Home 32 Avast free (11.1.2245) Comodo free firewall(8.2.0.4792)
151210-0

For the first time with this version, i tried the Scan for Network Threats and i regret to have done it.
CPU usage jumped to 100% and can’t stop scan. Scan seems endless (can’t do anything), i just reboot sistem and hope. After 5/7 minutes, pc finally rebooted.

I’m a veteran Avast user and this is first time i see a version of Avast born so bad.
This version (11.1.2245) must die soon or all Avast could die. :frowning:

Some are finding and issue with this was a previous bug that was meant to have been squashed in this version.

See https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178644.msg1275406#msg1275406, I’m not having an issues with is now, where I did before.

Gio,

already performed a real clean installation of the latest avast version ?
It can very well be that it is improving things.

Just because you have a problem with it on your system doesn't mean it is bad version. It only means it doesn't work as expected on your system and yes.. It could mean there is a bug.

That is like saying "If one person is born with a (small) handicap everyone must die". Nothing is perfect and nothing will ever be.

I did a clean install.

I let it Scan for Network Threats for about 25 min: CPU usage 50/60% (good) but it still endless and can not be stopped. Then i reboot pc.

However, clean install has solved a malfunction (non-stop check) of windows update.
