I’m fairly new to Avast and so far I like it, my question is when I do a scan (before I go to bed or when I know I won’t be using my computer for awhile) I set it to scan but when I return I find it has detected something and the scan has stopped until I address the detection. This has happened when a small percent of the scan has been achieved and I again have to wait for the scan to finish. Is there a setting that will let the scan run until completion and then let me address the detection then?
that is not possible in home version.
but there is a work around. may be davidr can help.

[font=Segoe UI] Uninterrupted scans can be achieved in avast PRO. On the otherhand, a few get arounds can help you set it to be like PRO’s. Just follow these steps:
[*]Download an EICAR.com.zip and put it in a folder with the name A on C:/
[]Run a scan
[]Once the EICAR file is detected, select “Do not show this dialog box until scan is finished.”
