scan interpretation

Attached please find image of scan this day. The results appear to list files that one might find on a webpage. Local search could not find such files and I would not have password protected PNG or GIF files. Not sure how to interpret these results. Guidance sought.

If you were able to expand the column width of the File Name column you could see that is in the .…\ concatenated section. This should tell you more about the program protecting its files.

It looks like a program update protecting the files.

Files that can’t be scanned are just that, not an indication they are suspicious/infected, just unable to be scanned.

Many programs (usually security based ones) password protect their files for legitimate reasons, there are others (and avast doesn’t know the password or have any way of using it even if it did know it).

By examining 1) the file name, 2) reason given by avast! for not being able to scan the files, 3) the location of the files, you can get an idea of what program they relate to. You may need to expand the column headings to see all the text.

If you can give some examples of those file names .…\ concatenations, the locations and reason given why it can’t be scanned might help us further ?

If you see the vertical bar to the left of status … put your mouse pointer on it and dragg sideways to open the column
then you/we can see the full file path

Many programs password protect there files, usually security programs but also others, like adobe…

How do I handle files that avast! can’t scan? https://blog.avast.com/2014/02/28/how-do-i-handle-files-that-avast-cant-scan/
