The last attempt to run a full scan on hard drive got stuck at 27%. I ran a malware bytes scan, it completed.
Sorry to be such a kiddie, but I work as a journalist, and have a “state level” cyberstaker. I have extreme limited website usage with this computer, run both Avast and Bytes, and still the content gets leaked.
Bonus question:
If I’m logged on to an unsecured WiFi network, public library, how vulnerable is my hard drive to a man in the middle attack? (the VPN, Hotspot Shield, continually shuts off, and then reboots) What would be the “concept” or most likely attack vector, and how would defend? Do I need new BIOS chips?
a unsecure wifi does not encrypt your data at all so anyone can see the trafik that been sent. So senetive serfing like banking and so one is at risk when surfing on a unsecure wifi.
I’m running the free version, for now. Bytes did not detect any thing. I believe I have been attacked with some sort of ssl encrypted attack. I installed a script blocker extension, and it detect something on boot up trying to connect to the web.
If there is encrypted malware on the drive, is the whole computer gone, or can I save it with new a new drive, and bios chips?
