scan performance options

I selected ‘’ Speed up scanning by using the persistent cache ‘’ and ‘’ Store data about scanned files… ‘’ for Full System Scan. I guess, first

avast will create data for persistent cache then it will use persistent cache data which created before.

Can you explain me how these options work together ?

Thanks

@ilker:
You are right. At first scan it will only “Store data about scanned files…”.
In the next scan it will “Speed up scanning by using the persistent cache” and also “Store data about new and modified scanned files…”

The ‘’ Store data about scanned files… ’ option is off by default I believe in most scans and rightly so as the note accompanying it says it will slow your scans as it ads another overhead to the scan.

I also set my Scan priority to High as my system has plenty of resources and that speeds the scan also. I ran some tests with the ‘’ Store data about scanned files… ’ option enabled and without the difference is quite a lot, so give it a try and see if find the same.

See quoted results Full System Scan:
first Scan Priority = Normal, ’ Store data about scanned files… ’ option enabled.
second Scan Priority = Normal, ’ Store data about scanned files… ’ option disabled.
third Scan Priority = High, ’ Store data about scanned files… ’ option disabled.
