Scan showed Tjn moved to Virus Chest ~ what to do next?

Avast Home 4.6 ~ I ran deep scan and found two Trojan viruses, Avast recommended to move them to the virus chest…done. What to do next? How to remove Trojan virus from system? I gather from what I read it is not safe to keep them in the virus chest. I ran a full virus scan of my Maxtor External 300 gig hard drive which is where I keep my Full System Backup. No infected files where found. Help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums jacob844

Well as far as I know it’s fully save to keep the files in the Chest

Hello Jacob,

That trojan in your system restore point might come back as these can usually be removed only by disabling system restore and rebooting.

If you find it recurring do the above, then download and scan with Ewido:

http://www.ewido.net/en/

This is an excellent, free program for trojan removal.

After its gone you can re-enable system restore.

According to the path (…\src\VIRUSDEF), I’d say it’s just a conflict with some other antivirus or malware-removing tool (that doesn’t encrypt its virus signatures).
