Hi,
I’m a long time user and recommender of Avast… both free versions and commercial.
The most recent version of Avast now automatically starts a ‘Default’ scan whenever the SCAN tile is clicked on. This is a relatively new occurrance and a very annoying one. I could see having a setting to set a default scan if you want to have the same scan start any time you click on the SCAN tile. But I believe that most people use the SCAN tile to select the type of scan they want to run at that particular time. So… for example, if I or one of my clients want to run a Boot Time Scan or a Custom Scan, every time we click on that SCAN icon, whatever scan is checked as default starts to run.
There is a very easy fix for this. I say fix, because I can’t see the logic of forcing a customer to start to run a particular scan every time they click the SCAN tile. An update could be done that allows either 1 scan or no scans to have their default box checked. This way, those that want to run the same scan every time they click the SCAN tile will be happy, and those of us who want to choose what scan we run each time will be happy also.
I would appreciate it if the Avast Team would look into this. I know if my clients are complaining about this, there are many others who are not happy about it.
I would also respectfully ask other Avast users to comment on this issue.
Thanks very much.
