I found that the scan-time taht avast! spending is up to the size of files ,not up to the number of files.
I did use some Anti-virus software before,and the scan-time of that software is up to the number of flies.
which is better,or effectual in anti-virus?up to size or up to number?

Maybe the scanning time depends on the number (and, consequently, the size) of the archive files.
The many archives you have, the long the scanning will be.
Time of on-demmand scanning depends on some other factors (other running programs, resources at your computer, etc.).
Anyway, avast is not a faster on-demmand scanning, on contrary, it could be very very better on this point 8)

I agree that speed is not the most important factor we appraise one software is good or not.
but admittedly,time is important for us .The size of Hard Disk increases very day.It is hard to think one day we spend 2 or 3 hours even much more time to run a full scan on our HDD. If so ,I`d rather to install Windows again .

No I don’t like. I run ‘scheduled’ scannings at night with the Pro version 8)
Anyway, my scannings generally take over 2 hours even at night.

Same as Tech here. Systems are up and running 24/7.
No problems at all.
Just keep them cool, that’s all.
And when cooling a system, the airflow is the most important thing.
Not the amount of fans.
