Scan turned up Win32:Malware-gen

Greetings all,

My wife’s Sony VAIO laptop was acting up (Microsoft 8.1 was showing a 0x80004005 when she tried to copy files from an external hard drive). I suspected there might be a problem and ran a Quick Scan which turned up the following:

File:
C:\Users\Belen\Documents\WORK STUFF\Documents USB\PLANNING-ACTIV DIDÁCTICAS- CAP MEMORY\Curso Actividad Didáctica en la aula.exe

Threat:
Win32:Malware-gen

i went ahead and moved it to the chest but what else should I do?

these are the logs we need

follow instructions here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
we need Malwarebytes and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool logs, attach the logs, 3 logs total

also scroll down to … SPECIFIC INFECTIONS LOGS and follow MCShield instructions >> This log you must copy and paste

see below the box you write in … Attachments and other options

a malware expert will then assist you when online
