Hello!
I’ve uninstalled avast! to test AntiVir… After various scan problems, i come back to Avast! (i really can’t live without it) ;D but i’ve got a little question : When i run an automatic task (with avast! home) using the Windows XP sheduled tasks, with the program ashQuick.exe, the scan is faster than the “trough scan”… Is the ashQuick program as efficient as avast! main scanner to scan entire drives?
Thanx.
As far as I know, ashQuick uses the most thorough scan possible.
Are you sure it’s really faster than the Simple User Interface?
1 week ago, i ran the scan with avast! and it take approximately 2 hours (through scan with archives scan), to scan all my files (approx. 300000?), today, with the ashQuick scan, it took approximately 30-35 minutes to scan 150000 files !
But i’m not very sure of that… I will test it when i will have time! (i’m 14 and… i work hard for my studies!)
I think that it deppends on that QScan not scanning all files, just executables. (I think so)
If you chose “fast scan” in UI then you will get same result if archives not scan archives.
(It takes often much time to unzip and scan files.)
ashQuick should scan everything, everywhere, with the highest possible sensitivity.
JojoFrench, maybe you removed some files (big archives?) from your disk in between?
Or, one more thought… how exactly do you run the scan from the Simple User Interface?
Hello!
No, i haven’t removed some big archives on my PC… (i don’t think so)… For the scan with the Simple Interface, i ran a Through Scan with Scan Archives. My resident protection is set to “high”…
But i will test it in the future, because i’m not 100% sure of that… 8)
Sorry if this post will be useless! ;D
Thanx…
What areas did you select in the Simple User Interface? (i.e. what buttons did you click)
