My W98 system with Avast Home edition seems to be unable to complete a Scandisk check. I suspect it may be seeing SD as a virus and rejecting it. How can I temporarily turn off Avast (during a Scandisk check)? Thanks. …wdc
I don’t think it’s a problem. I had the same problem then had my old PC: I was unable to do full scan disk check (bad sectors checking) and defragmentation. It was restarting after some period of time again and again. I think it’s a old bug of Win98 and ME systems. But you can try to pause Standart Shield provider.
