scanned items

when doing full system scan, does avast scan any registry items and boot sectors? are ALL important system areas thoroughly checked?

thanks EE

Hello EE, Avast! full scan performs a IN-DEPTH scan of the system.

All harddisks, Rootkits, auto Start programs and modules loaded in the memory is scanned

You can also read about if you go into:
-Scan now
-Now click “more details” under start at “Full system Scan”

Armin.

yes. i saw that also. but when doing the scan the scan items are displayed as it is scanning, and i don’t ever see where the registry, boot sectors, etc. are being scanned.

thanks

Simply do a boot time scan, that way everything that ever existed on your computer will be scanned. This allows malware to be deleted before they even have a chance to infect your computer.

Yes, but the boot time scanner is only for 32bit, not 64. We do not know what hers system bit is.

@ WildWestGuy and The Dude 321,

This is true. That is why it is important to get/or ask for all the newbie’s information early on since they are unable to show a Signature until after 20 posts (anti-spam forum protection), so you can give accurate information.

Upon reading the OP’s older threads, he/she has Win7, but it is never disclosed if he/she has a 32 or 64-bit machine, unless they are now referring to a different machine.

@ emilemma,

What is your OS, 32 or 64-bit?

Are you having any concerns regarding malware at this time? Thank you.
