avast is blocking my scanner
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
There isn’t much information to work with.
How is it being blocked, an avast alert or an error message and if so what is it ?
What were you doing with your scanner, is it linked to your computer or a remote connection.

New Canon PIXMAX printer connected via WIFI. Printer works fine, copier OK, but scanner does not. Correct lights blink, scanner mechanism whirs and moves across, but error message every time “ Communication error has occurred. Check power is on.Scanner connected correctly” I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, updated drivers, etc.etc. Set network to private, added printer to exceptions in avast settings, but no luck!
Strange that the Printer works but not the Scanner.
Whilst the printer works I’m a little surprised that the scanner doesn’t, I’m assuming this is combined Printer and scanner. Are you able to connect it via USB, somewhat difficult it its in a different room.
I have a printer/scanner/fax function on my Epson Stylus Office multi-function printer, but I connect using a USB connection. Though it is meant to be able to use WiFi/Ethernet.
Unfortunately I can’t find my old CD to set it up to test
So I did a search to see if this is common, not just related to avast.
