Hi, I was running a scan on my PC and got a message from AVAST telling me that the scanner was infected and that I should move it to the chest. Do I have to install AVAST again? What do I do with the file in the chest?
What exactly was the message?
(the full filename and the virus name, in particular)
Hi, thanks for your prompt answer. I don’t have images of the original Avast screen, the file is still in the chest and when I scan it the followinb message appears:
Scanning of selected files
Program will try to scan 1 selected file(s) in the Chest

The file comes from the folder
C:\Archivos de programa\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATAmoved
- this is the folder where avast! moves infected files when you select Move/Rename (not Move to Chest) from the “Virus found” dialog. So, you probably have instructed avast! to move a detected file there previously.
I believe you can safely delete the file (from Chest, because that’s where it is now).
Thanks again. ;D
