scanning a file

Hello,
I use Avast 4.7 Home Edition and my question regards scanning a single file. It scans and displays a message but it disappears so quickly, I have no idea what it was and I can’t read it. How do I slow this down or even make so the message displays or stays until I click ‘ok’ or something similar? At the very least, I would like a longer delay before the message disappears. So far, I assume that the file is okay since a problem would most likely have the message give a report and not close in that case.

Btw, I am speaking of the method in which you use a mouse and right click the file. Selecting the file through the scanner program itself is fine but a little more time consuming.

Can anyone help me out or explain what is going on and what the solution is? I’ve only encountered this problem (I call it a problem since I assume most antivirus program users would like to know what the message is) with this program and it works fine otherwise.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The ashQuick.exe scan is designed to be a quick scan to allow you to get on with life, if it doesn’t find anything you will not see anything, if an infection is found all hell will break loose and you will know.

You can change the default action, avast Program Settings, Common, Show results of Explorer Extension, see image.
