I have been using avast for quite some time now. and trust it very much. NOW, i have the W32.Sinnaka.A@mm virus. and i need to know how to search my drives only for this file name. I know i have this somewhere.
First, what you said is the name of the malware, not the filename - the filename could be anything.
Second, it’s not possible to scan only for a specific piece of malware - avast! always scans for all the known ones.
If avast detected this ‘W32.Sinnaka.A@mm’ virus it is likely that it would have detect it as ‘Win32:Trojan-gen. {UPX!}’, see image.
So you must have detected using another program or on-line scanner, which was it (it should also have given the file name and location) ?
If you detected it using another AV program do you have more than one AV installed ?
