is it possible to open the “downloads” folder and scan a downloaded file while in safe zone? I am trying to do this but when i right click on the file to scan with MBAM. nothing happens…
I’ve never had the need to scan with MBAM in Safe Mode and so I really can not say.
Perhaps someone else here has tried it and will answer you soon.
If no definitive answer here, you might try asking the question on the MBAM forum.
The OP isn’t talking about safe mode but the avast safe zone according to the Subject ?
If you are using the Safe Zone and the safezone browser, then surely you have the Safe Zone settings to save downloads in your normal download location ?
If so, then that is outside of the safezone and you can have MBAM scan them. But the whole point of the avast safezone is to isolate it from your regular desktop, so MBAM would be isolated too and couldn’t scan any content within the safezone.
Okay understood. I have all the default settings rightnow on my safezone so any downloads I assume are isolated in a virtualized environment separate from my systems normal download location so therefore I cannot scan downloaded files in the downloads folder with mbam after downloading something in safezone.? I hope I understood u correctly. Thanks DavId
Seems like you need to check whether the downloaded content is in Safe Zone or not. If it is, MBAM won’t be able to scan them, since Safe Zone is denying access to files in there, preventing all interaction between them and the rest of the system.
If the files are saved/downloaded to a location outside Safe Zone (i.e., your default Downloads folder, or anywhere else), and even while, and regardless of whether they were downloaded using Safe Zone, MBAM should be able to access them for a scan.
If it isn’t, then there may be an issue with your MBAM installation, or your user account credentials, administrative access/privileges, etc. – worth checking and making sure.
