Scanning single item with Avast ??

When I have downloaded a graphic or any file I always scan this with my AV.
You know the rightclick and Avast tells me the file and when I click it scans OK.
Then I get a pop-up that tells how many files and if OK.
However, the pop-up doesn’t stay for more than a sec so it’s hard to determine what the result was. Do I have to configure something for this, or is this normal behaviour. Or is there another area/way I can check this.
Still learning this AV and appreciate any suggestion re. this. ??? :slight_smile:
Also could somebody tell me if I’m posting in the right forum. Have Avast Home v. 4.5.514.0 Free… ???

If all is well the popup will disappear if not you will get the fright of your life with the alarm. If you want to see more info, switch on the Show Explorer Extension results, in the avast settings.

Have switched on the ‘Show Explorer Extension results’.
Good to know the files I checked are OK even if I had it set so it went away like that.

Now you really got me wondering about the alarm, and ‘the fright of my life’. If it’s something loud and scary I’ll probably fall off my chair. I’m good at stuff like that ;D

Since you didn’t tell me otherwise I guess I’m in the right forum for my version.

Your welcome, get used to fast, this forum is different to anyone I have ever been on, with many helpful avast users.

Do you mean other avast boards (such the Off Topic, General Topics…) or, on contrary, forum of other products (antivirus)?

I meant other avast boards. Wanted to be sure I posted my questions (about the software) in the right place for the version I have ( Avast Home v. 4.5.514.0 Free). Otherwise somebody has to move it, so was just wondering about that.

The seatbelts are on. ;D I really enjoy it here. :slight_smile: Am also getting to know the program, and boy is it thorough, and I feel really well protected now. Have used everything from Norton to… well let’s just say quite a few.
