Was going to do a clean install of W10 on my computer, decided to run a smart scan and it automatically cancelled at 93%, twice. After the clean install, I decided to try that and a removable media scan and it yielded the same result. Is there some deep rooted virus that could be causing this? I can’t imagine anything survived a full clean install since I deleted all of the drives.
Quick scan got cancelled at 58%. Trying a full virus scan now. I should mention that both Avast and Malwarebytes still have all shields and protections up, it’s just the scans.
When running a quick/full scan and leaving the toaster in the corner, the scan completes successfully. However, the toaster icon says “Scan Canceled - [insert number] usually 99%”.
The scan actually completes successfully but the toaster icon wrongly reports it as cancelled.
This is known and will be fixed when the toaster popups move to CEF.
Sounds like it could be, but the quick scan got nowhere near 90% before getting cancelled. I’m inclined to believe it’s a glitch, since there is very little chance that a virus actually survived a full drive wipe, but if it’s legitimately not completing the scans I might just switch to another AV. This didn’t happen before, so I dont know what triggered it.
Okay yeah I think it is that glitch. The quick scan completed just fine, and the removable media scan got to like 94 before jumping to 100 which I assume is it just scanning quickly. So do I just have to not minimize when scanning until this is fixed?
