First of all I want to thank those who help us new and free program users. I have actually used your program for quite some time with no issues or concerns. However, since 9-18, which might have been the same day I had a windows update, my scans start but do not move beyond the first file, which is where they pause/stall. I am running 8.0.1497. Any tips, suggestions, further questions to help clarify my issue, please feel free to share. thanks! Joni

controlpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall > repair option …wait a minute and reboot
