Jessie,
Hello, and thanks for stopping bye.
I know I will catch heck on this, but Avast Home cannot be set to run a scan on a schedule itself. Only the Pro version is “time schedule” capable.
However, another user posted a method using the Scheduler within Windows. The concept was quite feasible. Search the forum on the subject.
I will try to locate the thread and post it later.
This will tell you how to do it

Connie,
Thank you for posting the link to the thread we were speaking about.
I bookmarked it this time!

Yellow post it note stuck to monitor, virus scan 6pm today!
Sorry, couldn’t help it! ;D
Hello,
I tried everything what’s in the link but instead of an error message nothing happens at all! What can be wrong?
Can you post here the command that you schedule into Windows Tasks? I mean, the command line of the task
Something like this:
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe” "C:"
It should be in there like this:
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ASHQUICK.EXE” C:
no quotes around the drive letter
Here it is:
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe” C:
And what were the results of it?
It should work…
It says something about a password, I just picked one because I don’t have to use a password when I start up my pc. How do I know which password I should use in the wizard?
It’s a Windows problem.
When you installed Windows you should give the ‘Administrator’ one password.
But, if you do not add any password to login, probably it was left blank.
Can you try lefting it blank to see what you get?
You can only use the tasksheduler if you have a password on the user account which you are using when trying to shedule a task. This has nothing to do with Avast, but only with how Windows is operating.
