I have a daily scan scheduled at 23:30 PM, since the new 2015 version was downloaded the full system scan starts at 4:30 pm, I have the setting to shut the computer off after the scan, this is annoying. I don’t see an option to choose the time zone, so I am assuming that the time on my computer is what is governing the scan. Windows 7 64 bit HP
What is the secret to fixing the time problem?
thank you in advance.
Mary Salvador
Mary I have the same problem with new 2015 Avast Pro Antivirus. When you set your scheduled scan start time reboot the computer after you do this and the scan should run. This software is new so probably has some bugs as usual. You should be able to set the scan scheduled time without a reboot to make it effective but does not seem to work in the usual way…Gary
Is the time on your computer correct?
You may need to do a repair…Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.
Thank you Gary and Para-noid for your suggestions, the time on my computer is correct, I did check that first off… I did as Gary suggested and rebooted my computer after setting a scheduled scan. I look at Avast in control panel/programs but only uninstall was available, not a repair. I saw that there was an attachment to Para-noid’s reply for a repair…I am a little afraid to use it…I can screw up a train wreck. I will see if the reboot works, it not I will simply set my scheduled scan to start 7 hours earlier and see if that works…thank you again for your help.
Mary
The “repair” will “not” do any damage at all. The repair is for possible bad installs.
It’s an all purpose fix-it tool. The repair function is completely safe. A lot of us have
had do it at one time or another. However if that doesn’t work there are other things
we can try. Repair is always the first thing to try.
For what it’s worth, it’s not a systemic problem. I have a scan scheduled for 6am, and that’s when it started for both 2014 and 2015.

Thank you for your replies, I tried the reboot, that did not work, the scan still started at 4:30 pm so I set the scheduled scan to start 7 hours earlier and it is working…for some reason there is a 7 hour difference. My computer time is correct. I will try the repair attachment that you sent Para-niod. Thank you.
Mary
I just repaired Avast and lost my firewall, it could not start…I rebooted and that fixed the problem, but the time is still 7 hours off. So I am going to leave it alone and just schedule 7 hours ahead.
Thank you for your help.

A very old “trick”.
When all else fails, REBOOT.
Remember that the next time something isn’t working right.
Especially if you’ve just made changes or installed/uninstalled something.
Hi Mary. Thought I would let you know that Avast have let me know that this is actually a bug with the new version. My problem is exactly like yours except there is an 8hr time difference instead of 7hrs as in your case.
My last two emails from Avast support are:

Thanks for posting this Gary. Like you and Mary, I have an installation of 2015 Pro on Win 7 64 that is scanning out of sync with scheduled time. In my case by 6 hours. Now I know I can quit looking for a problem with the computer.
p.s. Mary, 23:30 is “PM” by default.
