Is there a way to show a report of the scan on the desktop after it’s done, instead of having to open up the program and looking up the sessions window?
PS. I’m running avast pro 4.6.691

Right click the blue ball > log viewer
I’m looking for this information:

I can’t find this in the log viewer.
Sorry my mistake, I misread your question. Thought you wanted to see the scan result.
When you shedule a task, click on the advanched button. You can set to create a log/report file there.
This is explained in the help file.
I suggest you read it and make yourself familiar with Avast and all the settings/options.
Once again you misunderstood.
The advanced feature sends it to a file, and not directly to screen, like microsoft antispyware does when it has finished its scan.
Well that is how it is working. As explained in the manual. You can ofcourse manually open the report when the scan is done. Not sure, but I think someone from Alwil has explained this in another thread some time ago, why this is so.
You can ofcourse let the report create in your desktop folder. So you can click on its icon to open it.
You should go to the Report page of the task you’ve used to scan.
There you can set everything: which will be reported, where the report will be saved, etc.
I’ve set it to save to Desktop in my Documents and Settings directory as an XML, so we’ll see what happens on my next weekly scan.
Thanks for the help guys.
