It wasn’t a “curt slap” at all as I see it.
Many things already have been explained/told (etc) on this webboard.
If people do some (re)search before posting they mostly can find the answer to their question/problem themselves.
That means the voluntary helpers don’t have to repeat the same thing over and over again.
It also mean that they have/can spend more time on more important things.
e.g. giving help with malware removal which is more important than just a GUI bug that avast has to fix.
