scheduled tasks running twice

I did a search for something like this, but couldn’t find anything related to the problem I’ve run into. What I’ve got is a small network with a managed avast install on the workstations and a few servers. Nothing complicated. The problem is that in the ADNM console, my scheduled tasks such as VPS updates, the daily find new computers job are all running twice when they’re only scheduled once. I’m not sure if my weekly reports will run twice or not, they didn’t this past sunday. But if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I’d love to hear them.

Huh, that certainly sounds like a strange problem.
So, the session gets fired twice, at exactly the same time?

And there’s no duplicate schedules, right? (in the Scheduler folder in the ADNM console)

Thanks
Vlk

Yep, that was the case. I say was because I just deleted the tasks I made, then recreated them, and they only ran once last night just like they’re supost to. Maybe it was just a glitch or something. :shrugs: But I’ll be sure to post again if I run into it anymore.

Great, thanks for the update.

For info I also had this problem on recent installation.
I only had the three schedules effectively set by default (find computers, clean and backup database).
Each was attempting to fire twice at the scheduled time. As such errors of ‘logical or physical device already exists’ were being recorded for the database schedules.
It seems resolved by deleting the schedules (not the tasks) and recreating them.

Not sure what might of caused it.
I have ADNM installed on the server with the AMS and also on one workstation.
During my initial installation to the server, I had started down the route of installing ADNM without MSDE but abandoned in the early stages and went the route with MSDE (we’re using SBS std edition). Whether any of this is relevant I’ve no idea!
