Scheduling question - Avast Free, Version 2014.9.0.2018

If I set it to scan at 7 am on Thursday, “don’t auto-wake up the computer” . . . I turn on the computer at 7:30 am . . . and it doesn’t start. Why?

Is it like this with Quick Scan, also? - ie. if I have it set to scan at 5 pm every day, it will just forget about it, unless the computer is on at that time?

That how avast works and the necessity for scans isn’t so important since avast is scanning in real time anyway, if you miss a set scan period you can start one manually at a later period or just leave it till next time.

Having missed the 7a.m. schedule it will wait for the next scheduled time. The “wake up the computer” option only works if the computer is in sleep mode, so even if enabled it wouldn’t work if the computer is switched off.

Personally I rather doubt you would like your scan to kick of when you boot, this is a heavy CPU/RAM usage period and I wouldn’t want to be trying to run a scan at that time.

Same as above if the computer is off or if you have it set not to “wake up the computer” to run the scan.
