Hello,
During the install of the Scirus Toolbar (used in many universities for scientific research) the Avast AV detected this as a Trojan and suggested disconnecting the connection. It does not seem that Norton detects this as a Trojan/Virus.
Could anyone at Avast take a look at this?
Thank you,

Kaspersky detects it as AdWare.BHO.MegaSearch.b
McAfee and DrWeb and few others also detect it as adware.
So is this really a problem or is it safe?
Do you keep getting pop-up ads?
Well, why do you need it in the first place? Isn’t Google good enough?
I wonder why people install all sorts of toolbar crap when Google is superior to any other search.
Alan finds it impossible to be silent when one of the most
“I want …”
“I suggest …”
“I believe …”
contributors on the forum believes it appropriate to decry a product choice of another user as “toolbar crap” and demand to know why they want to use it.
I could understand if there was an explanation of why this product choice was ill advised but such an outburst is not, I suggest, worthy of the respect users of Avast ought to be able to expect one of another in this forum.
I asked first part nicely about why do you need it.
Second part was my general opinion about toolbars (let it be Google,Yahoo or any other 3rd toolbar…)
Sorry if i offended you with that post before :-[
