Screenhunter is good & free.
Thanks Vladimyr for the recommendation…I’ll give it a try.
Yezinki,
Yes Windows XP has a screen capture. Here is a webpage from Microsoft showing how to do it.

I use WinSnap free which I like. It does some more things and is easy to use.

Vladymir Screenhunter is nice but saves a GIF?
Thanks again.
Free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).
Thanks again Tech…you are oozing with knowledge & info.
I appreciate it.
Tech btw have you ever tried KM browser?
Regards,
Yezinki.
For web use Gifs are fine and much smaller than jpg or png files, so unless what you are trying to capture has complex colours, the gif file format is OK. See example images a gif and a jpg of the same thing (the gif is just a good and is actually slightly larger area.
Thanks DavidR for dispaying the differences.
I got a freebie offer from Snagit. You can download Snagit 7.2.5 from here,http://www.oldapps.com/SnagIT.php?old_snagit=12 and if you wish I will pm you the key, to unlock it. Its all above board. An old version, but still very good
While MWSnap 3.0 is a slightly older program, it works perfectly with XP. Screen captures can be the whole screen or any part of the screen and can be saved automatically in several formats of your choice. There are other very useful options such as adding pointers, etc. It is available in 18 languages.
I have used this program for at least 5 years without even one problem. Check some of my many posts which include examples using MWSnap.

Do you mean http://www.userhelpguides.com/kmanywhere2005prohelp/ModuleQuickStarts/3browser.php ?
No… never even heard about it before. I use the old good Firefox. I’m waiting for extensions update to upgrade FF from 3.0.11 to 3.5.
The latest snagit version 9.1, I have been using snagit for many years and version 7 is still much better than many other screen capture applications.
+1
Not this but this…http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/.....it’s, fast, light & secure…this is the original K-Meleon Browser…a few have cloned & given different names like the link you suggested or Internet spirit browser…etc.
Not bad, it’s from the Mozilla family, has Spywareblaster protection enabled.
Thanks any ways!
Hope I made the correct choice…atleast DavidR would I agree…
another one.
I think you can see the sort of differences in file size when using png as opposed to .gif and I always try to select a file type that gives smaller file sizes unless it is a complex image (photo style) for the many like myself on dial-up connections.
So I set my default image type to .gif and only change if absolutely required.
