Just to check if deleting my avast account would remove the email from the v2015
GUI I had to create a new account and I want my real screen name back Para-Noid.
Who do I contact to get this accomplished?
By the way the email disappeared from the GUI.
edit: And all my “real” account information.
Under profile>user account you can change your display name in the forum.
As you deleted your account the data is also removed.
The only one who ‘may’ be able to do that would be the Administrator.
I think you should have thought this through before deleting your my.avast.com as it was certain to have repercussions with your forum account, given that they are linked.
Personally I don’t see a problem with the email address being displayed in the avast UI, most people aren’t going to be posting images of the UI in the forums.
I tend to make an image, edit it to obscure the email address and save the image with a useful/relevant name; that way I can use the image again and again if required for an example.

I tried changing it back to Para-Noid but that screen name is “taken”. Yeah, by me.
I make images then edit too.
Have you ever did anything out of curiosity only to regret doing it later? ???
Then essentially there is nothing to worry about as you have obscured the email in said image saved for example purposes later.
Not when I think the consequences are likely to be catastrophic, not too dissimilar to the hassles encountered by some being unable to logon to their account after the forum relaunch. I did test one theory about .gif animated avatars, existing ones remained animated, but change it, then change it back to the previous one and it no longer animates.
2a. If you wanted to test the link between your my.avast.com and your avast installation displaying the email in the UI, I would have tried removing/deleting the Device from the my.avast.com (not deleting the account) as that would have broken the linkage. But it ‘should’ have allowed you to recreate the linkage from the installation/device to the my.avast.com account.
I already feel like an idiot. I don’t need to have someone kick me while I’m down.

We are powerless to do anythning. The help you need can only come from a forum Admin.

Para-Noid’s last post was at 8:47 AM yesterday (Friday). While he (Para-Noid-1) was asking for help here at 3:37 PM yesterday (Friday). So, no posts by the real Para-noid have been posted after 3:30 PM yesterday.
It’s the weekend so I’m hoping sometime next week. :-[
