Do either the screensaver or the Windows Task Scheduler ashquick scans create a log?
In the Home version there are no reports saved, the Pro version has more reporting options and not to mention you don’t have to do a hack to get ashquick.exe and windows task scheduler to do a scheduled scan.
The ashquick.exe scan isn’t designed for this purpose so there is no reporting. if used in a context menu scan you ‘can’ get it to display the results (Program Settings, Common section, ‘Show results of Explorer Extension.’ However, I don’t know if this would work in the hack with windows task scheduler, there is no reason you could not to try it.
In the Pro version, screensaver task does not have a ‘report’ feature. But if a virus is found it will be logged as the same as in Home version.
To schedule in Pro, you don’t have to use ashquick and, yes, a report (as well the log) could be generated.
Thanks for the info.
yeah the windows task scheduler thing works ok,but I thank I will glom up on the Screensaver
Scan.
It is a pretty good use otherwise wasted time, and is designed into the program.
You’re welcome, though I’m not entirely sure I understand your comments.
Did the display results point I mentioned work when using ashquick with windows task scheduler ?
Not sure what ‘pretty good use’ or otherwise wasted time you refer to.
When I run any scan the only stats I would be interested in is what was detected and as Tech mentioned alerts are logged in the avast log viewer, Warning section.
