Screensaver scanning has stopped

I have been using the screensaving scanning for about a week. I noticed today that it’s stopped working.

No software has been installed or removed.

The Screensaver is setup correctly. Other screensavers work fine

What do you mean for ‘stop working’?
When it founds a virus, it stops…

But, does it work with ‘another’ screen saver of your system?
If yes, does the ‘new’ screen saver needs so much resources (intensive screen saver) that avoids the scanning? Can you choose a screen saver a little bit more simple?

Hope this help. Thanks for coming to the forums 8)

The Avast screensaver does not work. i.e. when selected in display properties, the avast screen saver NEVER activates. If I click on preview, there is a bit of disk activity, but nothing else.

All the other installed ‘regular’ Windows (w2k) screensavers work OK.

Hope this explains it better.

I cannot imagine why but maybe you can ‘repair’ your installation or, like the last resourse, uninstall and install again. I tried avast! screen saver just in XP (not 2000) and it works here… :-\

Hello, Clive

I guess you might think “avast! screen saver” is a real screen saver.
But “avast! screen saver” is NOT a real screen saver.
It is a scanning task.
Could you please read “Tasks - Screen-saver” in the help ?
