Script and mail shields not scanning anything ...

Using IE9/Windows Live mail … latest avast version.

any ideas?

Who is your email provider ? if your using windows live mail to retrieve hotmail then that connection uses DeltaSync and cannot be scanned by avast.

Are you using the 32 or 64 bit IE9 browser ? do you see scripts scanned if you open media player

Yes it is hotmail.

My IE is the 64bit version

Well i haven’t used the 64 bit version of IE9 for some time now as it performs much slower than the 32 bit but im fairly sure that script shield doesn’t work with the 64 bit browser ??? well it wasn’t when i gave up using it anyway ( things may have changed since then ??? )

Did you try Windows media player to see if any scripts are scanned ? also try browsing this forum with the 32bit browser to see if it works - does for me.

I didnt know the 64bit version is slower. I’ll try the 32 one and see if it makes a difference re. scanning (and speed)

microsoft protect all msn / hotmail / live mail accounts with Trend micro antivirus. :wink:

Can’t say I notice much difference in speed between the the two IE versions. If anything the 32bit one seems a tad slower but its hardly relevant and it solved the script shield issue.
