Hi
i use the pro version
but the script bl doesn’t work
i use exploerer and never it has checked a link!!!

That doesn’t mean it isn’t working.
Each time you reboot (or start Avast again) it starts counting from 0 (zero).
If there is no script to block (depending on your settings), the count won’t increase also.

Make sure Script Blocking is running and then visit some pages with Internet Explorer.
Visit those sites which are using scripts (forums/Hotmail accoun etc) and check Script Blocking count again (or Last scanned line).
Let us know what you’ll see.

Hey i think i have the same problem.I usually use mozzila firefox but the script blocker is not loaded. In the options “Mozzila” is marked. When i start internet explorer i see the splash screen-avast script blocker.I visited some forums but the count is still zero.Is this normal

Neron,

This has been discussed before, unfortunately Firefox is not compatible with the script blocker, i have requested that it be made compatible but apparently this is very hard to do, its the same with Opera browser i think.
I don’t this Firefox will be compatible in the near future really :-\

Perhaps someone from the Avast team could inform us if they ever change there minds on this subject?

OK i understand, but even without script blocker firefox is 100x times more secure than INTERNET explorer. Thanks again!

nothing it doesn’t work!!!
i did surf for hours but nothing , it did not check!!! any links!!!

Set avast! Script Blocker to show the splash screen at startup. Do you see the splash window when starting IE?
What IE version do you use?

yes i see the spash screen
ex 5.1
is possible that it doesn’t work because i did a reg clean??
and maybe the cleaner delete a reg key???

I never cleaned my registers but here it’s not working too.

The ScriptBlocker does not work with the latest versions of Mozilla, that’s a know fact (already discussed on the forum for a couple of times).

It should work in all version of IE though…

VLK,

The ScriptBlocker does not work with the latest versions of Mozilla,

I know this has been discussed before, but do you think this will ever change?, is it just a low priority thing?, maybe even impossible to implement it into such a non standard browser?.

I think there is no real need for scripscanning using Mozilla/FF/Opera… The main thing would be to let it work with IE… but if I try my IE (6 SP2) the counters stay zero… Might be interresting to look at…
Maybe it’s an idea to just remove the support for the old Netscape/Mozilla browsers. Nobody uses then now anyway, because almost everybody updated to Mozilla 1.7.x or FF… removing this support might help to get confusion away, and get the component more light… It’s only really needed for hole-cheese IE :stuck_out_tongue:

HELP

uninstalled avast and reinstalled avast
IT DOESN’t work with INTERNET EXPLORER ,i use w2k!

Vlk help me

I installed the beta, and now it works, look at the screenshot

I don’t know if this is related on my settings(DON"T STORE ANY COOKIES)but i still can’t make script blocker to scan.Maybe with the new version this will be fixed.I never use internet explorer so that is not big deal  ::slight_smile: :stuck_out_tongue:

VLK WHERE ARE U?

what can i do?
but is there somebody that use the pro version and have my problem?

I suggest you get the latest beta (4.6.588) and see if the problem is solved.

This is a harmless site but has a lot of scripts. You can use it to test.
