Hi everybody. I installed today version 6 of avast free from scratch after unistalling v. 5.1, but my script shield doesn’t seem to work, it scans nothing both on firefox 3.6.13 and IE 9 RC ???. I have vista 32 bit business.
How do you know it hasn’t scanned content in those browsers ?
The reason I ask is there is no differentiation in where the script shield actually scans. Today my script shield shows it has scanned 7005 and the last one being a jsp file from an https site, see image.
Now the previous script shield only worked with three browsers IE being one, but I don’t know if that is correct for IE9 since it isn’t a regular release yet.
Firefox wasn’t one of the three, but I believe that has (or is going to) change as I believe that connection in the image being a) https and b) I think it is a behind the scenes connection rather than through an actual browser.
I also have this problem, it seems that no scripts are being checked - tried with IE8 and FF4.0b13. No matter where I browse the counter won’t move.
Well, it is definetly not scanning in my Firefox.
Same site on IE8 is scanned, but no scan-action when using Firefox.
I have seen no script shield activity on w7 64bit system with IE RC9 (32 bit or 64 bit) or FF.
No non-browser activity either
Plenty on XP system
I have 364 today on netbook, win7 starter which is 32 bit.
I honestly don’t see how anyone can say for sure they aren’t having any browser based script shield activity as it isn’t categorised, certainly not in the 6.0.1000 avast free version and nothing in the scriptshield.txt file.
Currently IE 32 bit only. See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=72162.msg602057#msg602057
Yes but the strange thing is I don’t use IE as my default browser, as rare as hens teeth anyway. But some of those above have 32bit OSes so would have 32bit IE and possibly some of the 64bit OS users too.
No problem on my Windows 7 system.
Not working for Firefox/Vista 32 bit. Works okay for me with IE8. I thought NoScript might be the problem in FF, so I disabled it but Script Shield still disn’t show any scanning in FF. Avast Free Version.
FF Script Shield not working for me in XP either (XP SP3, 32 bit). IE8 works though. Avast Free Version.
