I’m sorry if this is the wrong subforum for this kind of question, I found similar problems being posted here so I figured I could try.
Whenever I try to run the game Scrolls by Mojang, avast seems to block me from connecting to their server and I get the in game message that their servers are down for maintenance. Now this is a known problem for that game, and their support told me to update or reinstall avast, which should fix the problem. I did update but that didn’t fix the issue. I can’t uninstall avast because this isn’t my laptop and I can’t tamper with it too much, I just use it for games occasionally.
Now I tried adding the game to exclusions in the active File System Shield protection tab, but that didn’t work either. It seems that because the game has a launcher, I can’t add the actual game to exclusions. To clarify - in the game folder there is only the “ScrollsLauncher.exe”, and there is no actual “Scrolls.exe” which starts after I click Play on the launcher.
Is there a way to add an active process to the list of exclusions? Would it even work in this particular case? If anyone has any other suggestion as to how to fix the thing without uninstalling, I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers
EDIT: I manually turned off only File System Shield, and the game is still blocked. It’s not blocked only if I disable avast shield controls entirely. So maybe I’m trying in the wrong place. Where else could I potentially add the program as an exclusion?
